About Chef Larry Ferguson
Hi there! I’m Chef Larry Ferguson, and I’m so happy you’re here to learn more about me and my passion for cooking.
My journey with food started when I was 19 years old. I began washing dishes in a barbecue restaurant while I was a freshman in college. That’s when I met a corporate chef who showed me what an exciting and amazing career cooking could be. I started cooking in that restaurant, and by the time I was 22, I had opened two restaurants in Kansas City!
I wanted to learn even more, so I went to the Scottsdale Culinary Institute. While I was in school, I worked at the Arizona Biltmore, which is a fancy 5-star hotel that’s been around since 1929. I got to work in five different restaurants there, learning all about different kinds of food and cooking styles. It was a fantastic experience.
After I got my culinary degree, I started leading kitchens when I was just 25 years old. I then moved into the entertainment catering business, which opened up some amazing opportunities for me. One of my coolest experiences was working with the band Newsboys on their Love Liberty Disco Tour in 2000. I got to travel to 48 states and cook for the tour, which was incredible for a young chef like me.
Later, I became the Executive Chef for the Showboat Branson Belle, working there for 15 years. It was a great job where I got to meet and cook for many wonderful people.
At home, my family calls me Chef Daddy. My wife Sandra is my number one supporter, and we’ve been married for 32 years. We have two boys. Avery, our oldest, is 22 and has Autism. We’re big supporters of kids with disabilities and love helping Avery with his needs. Max, our youngest, is 15. He loves sports cars, boxing, and working out at the gym.
I love cooking European-inspired food and bringing my 25 years of experience to create delicious meals for my clients. Thank you for your interest in Ferguson Culinary Concepts LLC. I can’t wait to meet you and cook for your next event!
